Danielle started playing cornet at the age of 9 and began by playing in the training band for Garforth Jubilee Brass. After a year she moved into the main band where she worked her way up to become Principal Cornet. After 5 years Danielle left Garforth Jubilee to focus on her school work.

Danielle studied music at Garforth Community College and was given cornet lessons by Steven Bailey. She was involved in many of the ensembles there, such as the Brass Band and Brass Ensemble. She also sung in the school Gospel Choir and performed in the Royal Albert Hall at the Last Night of the School Proms. In addition to this Danielle was also a member of the City of Leeds Youth Wind Orchestra for 2 years.

Danielle then spent a year studying at Leeds College of Music before going to York St John University for 4 years at which she received a BA (Hons) Degree in Primary Teaching and Music. She is now a primary school teacher in Leeds.

Danielle has played with Garforth Brass from the very beginning and thoroughly enjoys contesting. Some of her favourite pieces are The Dark Side of the Moon, Lord of the Dance and Four Scottish Dances.
