Terry has been playing trumpet for many years. He has experience in all genres of music including the Brass Band world. Shortly after taking up the trumpet, Terry held a cornet for the first time and became a member of the Rothwell Old Band. After a short stay, he decided to concentrate on orchestral work playing with many of the youth groups within the Leeds area, becoming principle trumpet with the Leeds Youth Orchestra and toured the USA with them.

He was also a member of the ‘Bob Archer Band’, playing jazz around the pubs and clubs of West Yorkshire. He has played for many amateur and professional shows over the years in the Yorkshire and Lancashire areas.

He has significant orchestral experience, and is currently principal trumpet with the Sinfonia of Leeds, performing in critically acclaimed concerts around the Yorkshire area, and has also recorded CD’s with Sir Ernest Hall and Peter Bradley-Fulgoni.

Terry is also a member of a Jazz group, ‘The Cool Connexion‘, a quintet who play easy listening jazz for all types of functions.

Terry is currently a brass teacher with ‘Artforms Leeds‘, the peripatetic service to Education Leeds.
